A visa lets you seek admission
A passport visa generally allows travel to a port of entry to seek admission in the relevant category. It does not guarantee admission or, by itself, determine the permitted stay after entry. The admission decision and its conditions are separate. A visa expiry date should therefore not be the only reference when planning how long to remain or when to address your next status step.
Status: review the record and its conditions
For a temporary stay, the I-94 and any relevant USCIS documents matter. Conditions may limit activities, employer and duration. Work authorisation also depends on its legal basis, not simply on having an immigration application pending. If records conflict or a date is unclear, show the complete set to an attorney. Confirming the record is better than making plans on an assumption.
A green card and the route to it are separate
A green card documents permanent residence, not citizenship. An immigrant petition and obtaining that status are different stages, potentially separated by a queue and further applications. Adjustment eligibility is considered for someone in the US; consular processing follows another route. Do not plan travel or employment around a form name alone: distinguish rights you already have from requests still pending.

Not necessarily. Authorised stay depends on other records and conditions, not just visa validity. Check your admission record and subsequent status decisions.
Is an approved petition already a green card?
No. It may establish a particular basis, but obtaining permanent residence requires the appropriate subsequent process and its conditions.
